Division in the Body

"As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God's work - which is by faith. The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith."
1 Timothy 1:3-5


So, brothers and sisters, there it is. Paul is telling Timothy the root of the problem in the division of Jesus' body - we argue about pointless ideas... like whether or not the world was created in exactly 7 days or thousands of years; if Adam and Eve were actually man and woman or humankind in general. The Word is God-breathed so let's take it for that. Why can't we just have faith in the Lord and His Word. Is proof of whether or not they world was created in 7 days going to lead others to Jesus....? No. It is the love and grace of our Father that brings salvation to the world, not doctrine. Let's stop arguing and bringing division among the Body and just have faith that the Lord is alive and living out His Word in our lives. We have a world to reach, not to argue with.
